Compassion & Healing Counseling is committed to providing counseling services at affordable rates. If you do not have insurance or are one of many who have a high insurance deductible, receiving counseling services from a professional counseling student is an excellent solution. Professional counseling students are currently enrolled in a graduate counseling program designed to prepare them for careers as professional counselors. Students must complete a practicum and internship of several hundred hours of face-to-face work with clients as part of their program. Students who have reached the point of practicum/internship have demonstrated competency in the core requirements of their programs and are now putting what they have learned into practice.
Seeing one of these professionals gives you many benefits. These counselors are actively seeking to expand their knowledge. They are open to learning and up to date on the latest research. When people hear the terms “student” or “intern,” they often interpret it as “inexperienced”. That is not the case. Professional counseling students chosen to work with Compassion & Healing Counseling are mature adults who come to the table with years of professional experience already under their belt.
You can rest assured that if you work with one of these professionals at Compassion & Healing Counseling, LLC, you will receive the best care. Those selected to serve at our practice are chosen from a selective process and work very closely with Dr. Jenkins to ensure their professional development and that they are delivering high-quality counseling services.
Other benefits:
· Lower costs to you
· Flexibility in scheduling
· Fresh perspective
· High energy and commitment
Most insurance providers will not reimburse for services provided by professional counseling students. It is important to speak with our office to assess if a professional counseling student fits you best. We set the private pay rate per session significantly lower to provide lower-cost options. This can mean significant financial savings when looking at the long-term costs of treatment. Research has shown that many people will opt to see a professional counseling student because the per-session rate can be lower than the copay or cost of counseling using their high deductible plans. More often than not, clients report being very pleased with the services provided by these professionals.
