Welcome, and thank you for visiting! I’m Dr. Alicea Jenkins, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Owner, and Clinical Director of Compassion & Healing Counseling, LLC. I have extensive education and training in counseling, completing my undergraduate work in Psychology, earning a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. I am also a Virginia board-approved supervisor for residents seeking licensure for LPC. I have several years of experience serving diverse populations with varying mental health concerns, and trained to provide evaluation and testing for a number of concerns. I am an active member of several state and national professional organizations to demonstrate my commitment to the counseling profession.
My experience includes treating: Adult ADHD, Anxiety, Depression/Peripartum, Relationships, Personal Identity Development and more. I also specialize in work with non-traditional-aged college students, as well as active-duty military members, veterans, and their spouses.
Because one size does not fit all, I take a Person-Centered approach to counseling. I am well-versed in several therapeutic approaches to meet the needs of my clients using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused (EFT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) with individuals. In addition to counseling I provide and oversee our evaluation and testing services.
